It’s detox time! Try this Alkalising Kiwi, Mango, Mint and Milk Thistle Smoothie, recipe courtesy of Erbology London.
Mango and kiwifruit make this smoothie pleasantly sweet and slightly tart, while mint leaves give it a fresh, aromatic flavour that will get all your senses a nice boost.
This smoothie is enriched with organic virgin milk thistle oil. Adding cold-pressed oils into smoothies is a great way to draw all their phytonutrients and omegas, while enjoying the taste of the drink.
Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is a beautiful plant with purple flowers and pale green leaves with white veins. In traditional medicine, the seeds of milk thistle have been used for centuries as a body cleanser and antioxidant. Milk thistle oil is extracted from the seeds and is high in phytonutrients, linoleic acid (omega 6 fatty acid) and skin-loving vitamin E.
Cold-pressed milk thistle oil is a perfect addition to mango, kiwis and mint. All three ingredients are high in vitamin C. This recipe includes 2 kiwis, 1 mango and a handful of fresh mint leaves. That is around 4 times RDA of vitamin C.

1 ripe mango
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
1 tbsp cold-pressed Erbology’s Organic Virgin Milk Thistle oil
1/2 cup filtered water
Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Add a little more water if needed to achieve your desired consistency. Pour into glasses and serve.
